Priyanka chopra is free for Shahrukh khan

Priyanka Chopra, the sizzling hot bollywood babe who was roped in by Shah Rukh Khan to do an item number for his film Billo Barber, has refused to take any fee for her performance.

Priyanka Chopra, who generally takes a hefty amount for an item number in any film, had a great time on the sets of Shah Rukh Khan’s home production and did not want to spoil her equations with him by taking money for an appearance. She was aware of the fact that Shah Rukh was making the film with Irrfan Khan and it was only to add some glamour quotient that he had roped her in the film.

VIDYA BALAN- heart breaks & disillusionment

PEOPLE CHOSE TO CALL IT A HEART BREAK OR DISILLUSIONMENT, ONLY I KNOW THE TRUTH .
WHAT DO YOU DO ON A DATE WITH SOMEONE YOU REALLY LIKE? YOU FUMBLE, YOU GOOF UP, YOU TRY TOO HARD TO IMPRESS THEM.
GUESS WHAT SOME OF US DO! WE PUT ON OUR BOXING GLOVES AND START RAINING IN THE PUNCHES, ‘COZ THE GAME IS ON. ‘COZ OUR GUARD IS CONSTANTLY UP AND WE ARE ONLY FIGHTING THE FACT THAT WE LIKE SOMEBODY.

I think Vidya Balan and I have reached that stage. The fact is, I adore Vidya. She’s classy, dignified, compassionate besides being good at her job, which incidentally guys, is acting. Have I ever told her that? No, on the contrary. “You can get away with murder,” she says to me as I heap some more criticism on her. Isn’t that the thing to do these days?

I totally get it. Her sartorial sense, her weighty issue, her choice in men, of course we all have our voice in that. We don’t en masse get called one of the most opinionated lot for nothing. Besides its our moral obligation to pull down everything and everyone we praised sky high; just to keep them grounded.

And we can’t fault Vidya’s acting credentials, surprisingly her films have been hits, be it ‘Heyy Babyy’ or last release ‘Kismat Konnection’, and she’s still flooded with film offers. Clearly we need to find something about her to pick on. And Vidya as always, doesn’t disappoint.

Aamir 'A-sin' to love Sallu

AAMIR UNHAPPY WITH HIS DEBUTANT’S CLOSENESS TO SALMAN

TIME AND AGAIN STORIES HAVE BEEN WRITTEN ABOUT PEOPLE DEFYING ALL NORMS TO BE WITH THE ONE THEY LOVE.

RENOUNCING THE THRONE AND GIVING UP THEIR POWERS ONLY FOR LOVE IS NOT JUST HEARD ABOUT IN LEGENDS OR IN GRANDMA’S TALES; EVEN TODAY PEOPLE GO THROUGH FIRE, JUST TO SATISFY THEIR NEED TO BE LOVED.

Tinsel town and the people constantly in the spotlight aren’t any different. If only everyone around them understood the urge to put life on a backseat when love comes calling.

Aamir has always been a control freak and is known to control the lives of those who work in projects that he is a part of, even if it means doing everything his way with less or no consideration to others involved.

Aamir's Ghajini clones wandering at Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

In a surprise marketing move, Aamir Khan has once again upstaged Shah Rukh Khan by making all the ushers and ticketing staff at the multiplexes to don the look from ‘Ghajini’ on the day of release of ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.
Now, the audience will go to watch Shah Rukh Khan’s film but will end up seeing numerous look alike of Aamir Khan at the theatres. It will certainly create the buzz for Aamir Khan’s upcoming film but at the same time will undermine the King Khan’s movie on the first day of release itself. This marketing offensive on the part of Aamir Khan and the producers of ‘Ghajini’ is certainly going to hot up the already on- going cold war between the two reigning superstars.Sources say that Shah Rukh Khan and Yashraj Films were totally taken aback and were not prepared for this type of assault on their big budget film from Aamir Khan. The insiders say that the whole idea was planned by the perfectionist Aamir Khan himself and discussed with the producers in a hush hush manner.

Mahartahi ***

STARRING
Paresh Rawal, Neha Dhupia, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Boman Irani, Tara Sharma, Vivek Shauq and others.
DIRECTION
Shivam Nair
STORY
The story of the film revolves around the character of Subhash (Paresh Rawal), who has been struggling for the last ten years to get acting assignments in films, but to no avail. He survives on small cheatings that he inflicts on unsuspecting victims. However, Paresh’s life changes when he saves the life of Mr. Adenwalla( Naseeruddin Shah) without caring for his own life. He goes to Naseeruddin’s home to drop him as the latter was injured. But Paresh was shocked when he saw the grandeur and opulence of Naseer’s house. Paresh thinks that he will get a handsome tip from the owner of the house but instead he gets offer of a job. Now, he becomes Naseer’s driver and accompanies him everywhere. But Naseer’s wife Mallika Adenwalla (Neha Dhupia) resents this proximity.Gradually, Paresh comes to know that Mallika Adenwalla wants to usurp all money and property of Mr Adenwalla and does not have any interest in him. Mr Adenwalla, too, knows this fact about his wife and ultimately throws her in a catch 22 situation.Sensing a chance of getting out from his financial penury for ever, Paresh enters into an agreement with Mallika Adenwalla to usurp the property of Mr. Adenwalla. He arranges for a caretaker (Tara Sharma) with the help of family lawyer Boman Irani to act as a witness. What happens to Paresh’s plans and what happens to Mallika after all this, forms the rest of the story.
PERFORMANCE
Naseeruddin Shah, who plays the character of rich person Mr. Adenwala, excels in his role. He successfully enacts the hurt emotions of a man who had married his film’s heroine and now suffering due to her. However, his suicide in the end, to teach Neha a lesson, does not seem convincing. Paresh Rawal, who essays the character of Subhash, is first rate and leaves nothing to be desired. His depiction of different mood in his character is just superb.Boman Irani, who plays the character of lawyer, is in his elements. He is complete natural. But in the end his character increases confusion than solving the problem. Neha Dhupia, who plays the wife Mallika Adenwala, has considerably improved her histrionic ability. Om Puri does not get much of scope to show his histrionics but has done well whatever he could get in the bargain. Tara Sharma passes the muster, while others provide able support to the main cast of the film. The direction of Shivam Nair is fairly good, but he seems to be handicapped by a loose screenplay. The plot could have been great for a Gujarati play, which has been popular for the last twenty years but cinema is a different medium and needs a different type of screenplay. None the less, the director has shot the film very well. There is only one song in the film and that’s too a promotional track in the end. However, cinematography is superb.
STARDUST VERDICT
Despite of superlative performances by Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah and Neha Dhupia, the film seems to be handicapped by the lack of a convincing and arresting script. None the less, the film has an interesting casting and curiosity value which should help it at the box office. Above average fare.

Dil Kabaddi **

STARRING
Rahul Bose, Irrfan Khan, Rahul Khanna, Konkona Sen Sharma, Payal Rohatgi, Soha Ali Khan, Saba and others.

DIRECTION

Anil Senior

STORY

The story revolves around two modern day couples Samit (Irrfan Khan)-Mita (Soha Ali Khan) and Rishi (Rahul Bose)-Simi (Konkona Sen Sharma). It deals with their post-marriage boredom and the irresistible lure of having fun outside the marital lakshman rekha.Irrfan Khan is one of those souls who love to experiment outside marriage without realizing the agony and pain it causes to his wife Mita. Mita does not like his promiscuous ways but silently suffers. Similarly, Rahul Bose, too, tries his hand at having some fun outside his marriage with Konkona Sen. All this forces Konkona to think if she was made for all these stuff outside wedding or not. While these two couples were struggling to come to terms with their marital life, there comes Kaya (Payal Rohatgi), who spices up the goings on between Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan for a while. Saba (Raga) does the same in the arid life of Rahul Bose and compels him in taking next step.Soha Ali Khan’s short stint with Rahul Khanna (Veer) confuses Konkona Sen Sharma about the whole relationship and its ramifications. How, these four end up with their different quests and what happens to them forms rest of the story.

PERFORMANCE

Irrfan Khan, who plays the character of Samit, is in terrific form and lives his role realistically on the celluloid. His going out on a date with office colleague and later enduing up doing shirshasan is worth watching. Soha Ali Khan, who plays Irrfan’s wife Mita, has been improving with every new film of hers. She has given a fantastic performance.Rahul Bose, as always, is fabulous in the character of Rishi. His interaction with wife Simi is very good. Rahul’s reaction to his student, demanding a passionate kiss on her birthday, is also worth seeing. Konkona Sen Sharma, who plays Rahul’s wife Simi, excels in her role. Her interactions with Rahul Bose are superb.Rahul Khanna looks natural in the character of Veer and plays his part well. Payal Rohatgi provides the oomph factor to the whole proceedings with her sexy presence. Saba, as student of Rahul Bose, does a superb job.The direction of Anil Senior is not up to the mark. His style of storytelling seems to be an abstract. The director seems further handicapped by plot of the film which lacks a beginning, middle and end. However, it must be admitted that the director has taken a bold step by touching a taboo subject like sex and tried to do justice with it. The music of the film is also just passable. But cinematography is very good.

Despite of sterling performances by seasoned actors like Irrfan, Rahul and Konkona, the film will be liked only by a niche audience at multiplexes due to its being based on a bold subject like sex. Not much chance at the box office. An average fare.

Sorry Bhai

STARRING

Shabana Azmi, Chitrangada Singh, Boman Irani, Sanjay Suri, Sharman Joshi and others.

DIRECTION

Onir

STORY

The story of the film revolves around two brothers Siddarth (Sharman Joshi), Harsh (Sanjay Suri) and Aaliyah (Chitrangada Singh). The elder brother Harsh works as a scientist in Mauritius and has decided to marry Aaliyah.

The younger brother Siddarth travels to the Indian Ocean country along with his mother (Shabana Azmi) and father (Boman Irani) for his elder brother wedding. But mother is angry with Harsh as he had decided about the wedding without consulting her on the issue.

As Harsh is a very career oriented person and finds little time to spend with his brother and parents, he deputes Aaliyah to show them all the tourist attractions of Mauritius. As Harsh’s mother does not like Aaliyah, Siddharth spends a lot of time with her.

Gradually, they began like each other. Soon, Siddarth feels that he was falling in love with his elder brother’s would- be- wife and tries to maintain his distance. But by this time Aaliyah has fallen in love with Siddharth, and is not prepared to leave him at any cost. How mother takes charge of the situation and what happens to whom forms the rest of the story.

PERFORMANCE

Sharman Joshi, who plays the younger brother Siddarth, is terrific. He has played his part with conviction and depth. His chemistry with Chitrangada Singh is very good and they both look very comfortable with each other. Chitrangada Singh, who plays the character of Aaliyah, looks beautiful and natural in her acting. She has played the character of a girl in love with two brothers with élan.

Shabana Azmi looks convincing in the character of Mother. She has successfully essayed the every nuance of her tough characterization. Boman Irani, as always, is natural and confident. His chemistry with Shabana Azmi looks crackling on the silver screen. Sanjay Suri is convincing but loses his importance after the first half.

The direction of Onir seems to be handicapped by the absence of a tight screenplay. The concept of the story seems to be very good but it could not develop into a full fledged film. However, some of the sequences have been executed deftly, no doubt about that. For instance, the sequence between Chitrangada & Shabana; Chtrangada & Sharman. The music is good but it was not promoted properly to become popular among the masses. Other production values are up to the mark.

STARDUST VERDICT

The story of the film is too unconventional to be popular among the masses. The movie may appeal to the multiplex crowed to a certain extent. An average fare.

MeeraBai Not Out

STARRING

Anupam Kher, Mandira Bedi, Vandana Gupta, Mahesh Manjrekar,Prateeksha Lonkar, Anil Kumble, Eijaz Khan and others.

DIRECTION

Chandrakant Kulkarni

STORY

The plot of the film revolves around a mathematics teacher Meera Achrekar (Mandira Bedi) who loves cricket and idolizes Indian cricket team spinner Anil Kumble. She teaches at Vishwaprem Vidyalaya and is very popular with the students and teachers due to her love for the cricket.

Meera lives in a Mumbai chawl and was initiated in cricket at Wankhede stadium by her brother Mahesh, who had played cricket at Ranji level. But the responsibilities of family has changed the brother so much that he does not have time to even listen to commentaries and prefers to avoid them.

However, Meera’s family is worried about her single status and wants her to get married. Meera suddenly finds love in the company of a heart specialist Dr Arjun Sachdeva (Eijaz Khan) and at this point for the first time she realizes that life is something more than cricket, team India and Kumble. What happens after that forms the rest of the story.

PERFORMANCE

Mandira Bedi, who plays the character of Meera Achrekar, is natural to the core. Mandira looks more in command towards the end than at the initial stages of the film. The lady, who has anchored cricket matches, looks at ease in the cricket centric film. Eijaz Khan, who essays the character of Dr Arjun, plays his part convincingly. This television guy seems to have a future in bollywood.

Mahesh Manjrekar, who plays Mandira Bedi’s brother gets chance to show his acting prowess only towards the end. Otherwise, he did not have much scope to showcase his ability. Anupam Kher, as always, is efficient in his character. Pratiksha Lonkar is simply wasted, while the leggie Anil Kumble passes the muster.

The direction of Chandrakant Kulkarni is above average. He has handled final sequences with competence and confidence. The sequences depicting cricket match between Eijaz and Mahesh and the quiz interaction between Mandira Bedi and Anupam Kher are especially good. Music is functional.

STARDUST VERDICT

The film is essentially a love story and not a film on cricket. It will find the going tough at the box office. An average fare.

Who rules bollywood
