Dev D is a hot or flop noboday knows yet.
The movie is adored by a section of people and abhored by another.
No mixed reviews for this new punjabi devdas avtaar.
It's only extreme review.
Either a 5 star or no star al all.
Dev d got decent openings in big cities like Delhi.
It had recieved bad reviews on friday and bad mouthed to the core
Though it picked up during the weekend after a few good reviews.

Let's wait for the box -office collection for the real picture.

Anurag Kashyaps's adaptaion of Dev Das is modernaised.
An MMS incident makes Chanda(Chandramukhi) a high profile escort.
Dev das is not an alcoholic who drinks to death.He's a drug addict instead.
It looks like an interesting take on the classic novel.



Devendra singh dhiilo is our Punjabi self-destrutive Dev D, much in contrast of the earlier sublime bengoli' Dev Mukherjee ' Devdas.
Our modern DEv would ask pParo to send her nude photographs through e-mail.
And even Paro is not the chaste and moral Paro.She'd ride on a bycycle in obnoxcios hours in the night to the 'Chane ke khett' to have some raw fun with her childhood beloved.
This is one movie where you find it hard to understand if you liked the movie.
Essentially,It's Anurag Kashap's movie,which always has a rebellous flavour.
Chances are if you liked "no Smoking", you 'll like this to the core.
If you didn't,You wont be able to decide if you liked the movie.
You might find it a bit too abstract and boring at times.
Anyway,
Abhay Deol proves himself yet again. Natural to the core.
Mahi Gill has done a decent Job.
Kalki as a hooker Chanda by night and a college student in broad day light, shows sparks in some scenes.
The unique Cinamatography captures the oblivion of the addict's world quite effectively.

On the music front,the songs of Dev D already created waves with 'emotional attyachar','saali Khushi','Nayan Tarse' and 'Yeh Duniya'.It already has become an unintentional musical though most of the songs are just playing in the background and not lip-synced.

Over all, A segment of the young crowd is going to love the movie.Not quite a stirrer for the masses though.

Anurag Kashyap, one of the talented directors of bollywood who received critical acclaim for his film Black Friday, has been in a live-in relationship with Chandramukhi of his upcoming film ‘Dev. D’.


The actress Kalki Koechlin not only plays a modern day Chandramukhi in Anurag Kashyap’s modern version of classic film ‘Devdas’ but also in his real life, thereby wreaking a havoc of ‘Emotional Atyachar’ on Anurag’s wife Aarti. Though Anurag does not openly talk about his love affair but Kalki is open and admits to everybody that she was in a relationship with the director of her film. However, Anurag Kashyap is honest enough not to deny the relationship in the garb of just friendship, but he insists that there was no plan of marriage with Kalki any time soon.
